Los Angeles Unified is committed to providing every student in our District with a safe learning environment. As a part of the Every School Safe initiative, throughout the school year, students will participate in presentations during assemblies and homeroom that will teach strategies to help them recognize concerns and how to ask for help.

Parents will be invited to a presentation regarding the same topic for that month. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions of this series on Safety.

Our first presentation is on Tuesday at 4 pm via zoom and this month’s topic is Child Sexual Grooming Awareness for Parents.

PEARY’s BLACK STUDENT UNION

              You are invited to join Peary’s BSU Club. We are an educationally oriented club that promotes the Diaspora and Diversity of Blackness in a safe space to speak about Uplifting Black Culture, Resolving Social Issues and/or Disparities, and discussing Black-related topics.

Motto: Peary’s Black Student Union is an on-campus organization for the Black student body. Our purpose is to serve as a network and support system for students of African descent at PEARY. We will discuss the various political, social, and cultural issues that pertain to Black students, with the intentions of encouraging, enriching, and educating the whole person and providing effective self-government. However, please be advised Peary’s BSU openly admits ALL of Peary’s students to its membership as we move forward towards uplifting our African American student body and Gardena community.

       Saturday Tutoring will begin this weekend on October 14, 2023, 8:00 - 12:20 pm. After-School Tutoring will start next week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:15 pm. 

       Please complete and return the application to register your child for tutoring and/or academic support in English, Math, or both. Apply using the attached application, click here to complete the online application or visit our main office to complete a paper application. 

     *Please be advised, applications and flyers were also sent home with students on Wednesday. 

      Please complete your child's application as soon as possible as space is limited.

Digital citizenship refers to the responsible use of technology by anyone who uses computers, the Internet, and digital devices to engage with society on any level. All students need digital citizenship skills to participate fully in their communities and make smart choices online and in life.

Hello Peary Families,  

Please join us on Thursday, October 26, 5 - 7 pm for our Parent Teacher Conference Event.  

Conferences will be for approximately 5-7 minutes, on a first-come first-served basis, per teacher.

Other useful information and activites happening on Thursday:

• Counselors and The BSAP team will be available to discuss various student support services available to Peary students including but not limited tutoring, intervention and counseling. 
• To honor our journey to the 50th day of school, all are welcome to dress in 50’s era attire on Thursday.
• School Site Council (SSC) Meeting will be held on Thursday at 3:30 pm in Stephan Hall or via Zoom.  
• The Computer Lab will be open on Thursday from 4:15 – 5:00 pm to assist parents with the eChoices Magnet Application.
• The Parent Center will be open on Thursday between 8am - 3pm and 5pm - 7pm to answer questions and help parents log-in and navigate The Parent Portal.
