About Peary Middle School’s STEAM Program

Since our establishment, Peary Middle School has been dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience through our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) program. Our mission is to empower students to achieve their educational goals by actively engaging them in a comprehensive and integrated curriculum that emphasizes scientific inquiry, mathematical reasoning, and technological innovation.

At Peary Middle School, our top priority is the welfare and academic success of our students. We design programs and activities that cultivate academic competencies, real-life skills, critical thinking, creativity, and technological proficiency. Our rigorous curriculum aligns with the Common Core State Standards, preparing students to become lifelong learners who are college and career-ready in the 21st century.

Students have access to advanced digital multimedia equipment, unique electives, college and career readiness and exciting events. Throughout our instructional program, students enhance their digital skills, applying and refining these competencies in meaningful ways. Our STEAM technology elective courses include 3D design, coding, robotics, esports, sewing, woodshop, band, graphic arts and web design.

Magnet Program Application

1. Apply through: echoices.lausd.net

2. You will receive a notice confirming your application or asking for corrections.

3. You will then be notified whether you have been selected or waitlisted.

If selected, you must accept on the parent portal or in person. Then complete and enrollment packet in the Peary Attendance office. If waitlisted, you will receive a call once a seat becomes available.

Late applicants will receive a call after the waitlist has been exhausted.

Hello Huskies,

We currently have 8 openings for the upcoming Clear Creek field trip (April 11-13) that we need to fill. Our girls' section is completely full, so we're specifically looking for boys to join the adventure! Both magnet and non-magnet male students are eligible.

About Clear Creek OEC. Students participate 3-day, 2-night, fun-filled science camp experience in the Angeles National Forest, where nature provides multi-dimensional and multi-sensory learning opportunities.

*Items not allowed at camp: cell phone, food, medications that are not pre-approved by the doctor.

Actualmente tenemos 8 vacantes para la próxima excursión a Clear Creek (del 11 al 13 de abril) que necesitamos cubrir. ¡Nuestra sección de niñas está completamente llena, por lo que estamos buscando específicamente niños para unirse a la aventura! Son elegibles tanto los estudiantes varones de programas Magnet como los que no lo son.
