8th Grade News, Events and Activities

Hello 8th Grade Families,
 
Congratulations to our Class of 2024!
 
8th grade students who are in attendance on Tuesday will recieve their Certificate during period 4. Legal parent/guardians or students who do not attend school on Tuesday or may pick up their certificate on Tuesday between 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm. Please bring your ID.
 
Also, Gardena High School will be open for you on Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 13 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for registration, laptop distribution, and prizes. Incoming Grade 9 students and parents must attend. Arrive early. 
 
Lastly, Gardena High is hosting a five-day Summer Bridge Readiness Program, July 13-19, (flyer attached) to support incoming 9th gradestudents' transition from Middle School to High school. Visit Gardena High School's main office or https://bit.ly/3x40XAT to register for this summer opportunity.

2024 Cap and Gown Photos
Cap and Gown Photos are available!  Parents and family may purchase additional photo products at myfotorama.com. The Cap and Gown picture will be placed on each student's culmination certificate. 
2024 Culmination Information 
 
  • Friday, June 7, 2024
  • 10:00 am 
  • Gardena High School
  • Participants of ALL ages must have a ticket
 

Culmination Ceremony Guidelines

  • Participating students will receive four (4) tickets.
  • Gowns and tickets will be distributed to eligible students June 5-6.
  • Participants are to return the gown  immediately following the ceremony.  

 

NOT allowed in the Ceremony

  • Participating students may not wear a graduation cap. Caps are reserved for HS graduates. 
  • To ensure a memorable culmination for all participants, please leave all leis, balloons, flowers, poppers, noise makers, confetti, stadium horns, and anything else that might distract from the ceremony, outside of the facility. This list is not extensive; other items may be added to this list at any time without warning.  
  • Bags, bottles, and outside food will not be allowed into the stadium.
  • There will be no concession sales
